Comedian and podcast host Adam Carolla has joined the chorus of critics denouncing California Governor Gavin Newsom, calling him a "policy disaster" and a "sociopath" who has "ruined" the state.
In a recent interview with Fox News' Brian Kilmeade, Carolla lambasted Newsom's tenure as governor, accusing him of presiding over a string of policy failures that have exacerbated California's mounting problems.
"Newsom's a sociopath. He's ruined California, and he wants to franchise," Carolla quipped, referring to rumors that Newsom harbors presidential aspirations. "It's like saying, 'I built the world's worst taco stand in California, and now I'm going nationwide with them.' And no one's buying what he's selling."

Carolla's criticism echoes the growing discontent among Californians toward Newsom's leadership. A recent poll by the Public Policy Institute of California revealed that Newsom's approval rating has plummeted to 44%, raising questions about his political future.
Carolla, who is packing up and leaving California, cited Newsom's mishandling of the state's economy, education system, and homelessness crisis as reasons for his departure. He accused Newsom of being all style and no substance, more concerned with cultivating a polished image than with addressing the state's pressing issues.

"He's kind of the face of politics and everything that's wrong with politics, which is just this weird aesthetic and a sort of, 'I'd like to have a beer with that guy' versus anything good in the policy department," Carolla said.
Carolla's interview with Kilmeade comes on the heels of his announcement on "The Sage Steele Show" that he is leaving California, joining a growing exodus of celebrities fleeing the state. Carolla plans to relocate to a state with a more favorable political climate, such as Texas or Florida.

"He's an empty bag. He's a ten-cent head, but he's mainly a sociopath. I've interviewed him on my podcast," Carolla said of Newsom.
During their podcast interview, Carolla said, Newsom failed to answer any questions substantively, despite being pressed to do so.

"He lied, then he doubled down, and he had no solutions," Carolla told Kilmeade. "He brought up a problem [would] try to get some intersectional points on it and, when I kept pressing him to see what the solution or the answer was, he had nothing."
Carolla's departure from California is a stark illustration of the growing dissatisfaction with Newsom's leadership. As the state grapples with a host of challenges, Newsom's approval ratings continue to decline, casting doubt on his political viability beyond his current term.
