Ohio's capital city, Columbus, has emerged as an unexpected hotbed for adultery, according to controversial dating service Ashley Madison. An annual analysis of signups per capita across America revealed that Columbus has dethroned Miami as the leading city with the most interest in non-monogamy.

Ashley Madison's chief strategy officer, Paul Keable, shared exclusive insights with Fox News Digital, highlighting the top 20 hotspots for non-monogamous behavior. Notably, the data indicates that infidelity spans a diverse range of states and demographics.

"Adultery and infidelity are everywhere," said Keable. "We have red states, blue states, and purple states well represented. We have tourist destinations like Las Vegas, which is unsurprising, but when you see cities like Buffalo, Baton Rouge, and Tucson, it shows that infidelity is not isolated to affluent areas."

Ohio's dominance in the rankings is particularly intriguing. In addition to Columbus, Cincinnati and Cleveland also placed within the top 20, raising questions about the state's societal norms and attitudes towards marriage and monogamy.

"Something is going on in Ohio," said Keable. "It's fascinating to see Columbus surge to the top spot, especially since it wasn't even in the top 20 last year."

Richmond, Virginia, also caught Keable's attention, landing at number 6 on the list despite not being typically considered a hotbed for adultery. However, given its proximity to Washington, D.C., Keable speculates that the prevalence of political professionals who often work in high-stress environments may contribute to increased infidelity rates.

Florida continues to have a strong presence on the list, with Miami falling to number 2 but Orlando and Tampa also making the cut. As for major population centers like New York City, Los Angeles, and Houston, Keable notes that while they have large numbers of Ashley Madison members, per capita rankings provide a more accurate representation of a city's proclivity for non-monogamy.

"It's a better way to gauge a city's desire for infidelity," said Keable. "Raw numbers may indicate many members, but per capita rankings reveal where the highest concentrations of people are seeking non-monogamous relationships."

Keable's analysis highlights the widespread nature of infidelity, suggesting that it cuts across socioeconomic boundaries and geographic regions. Ashley Madison's data provides further evidence that adultery is not merely a taboo subject but a prevalent reality in modern society.
