In an emotional video posted on her social media platforms, PenaVega shared how her faith has been a source of strength and comfort during the difficult time following the stillbirth of her daughter, Indy.
"We're actually doing really well, considering everything," she told her followers. "All the prayers that you guys have prayed, we have felt them. The power of prayer is so real."
PenaVega emphasized that the loss of her daughter was "the most traumatic thing" her family had ever experienced, but she found solace in surrendering to God. "It's been really incredible to see how God has just moved through our family during this time," she said. "We have obviously felt a lot of pain, but also an insane amount of peace."
She explained that she had learned the importance of "pain with purpose" through this experience. "Losing Indy was very hard, but I don't think I've ever surrendered in this way to God in my life," she said. "I just kept praying, ‘God, give this pain purpose.'"
PenaVega said that her daughter's life had transformed her family. "Our family has never been stronger. My faith has never been stronger. My marriage has never been stronger," she said through tears. "Her life was so purposeful in just that short little bit that we had with her."
Despite the pain, PenaVega encouraged her followers to see the peace that God can bring. "It might be hard to understand unless you've experienced this kind of loss, but I really do hope that you guys can see the crazy peace that we have, even through the pain," she said.
PenaVega and her husband, Carlos PenaVega, are parents to two sons and one daughter. They married in 2014 after meeting at a Bible study. PenaVega's faith has been an integral part of her life since she was a child, and she credits it with helping her navigate the challenges of motherhood and loss.
"God has really prepared us to walk through this season and not feel completely abandoned," she said. "I do hope that you could see how much God is at work, and how much fruit little Indy's life has produced already."
