During a segment on "Jesse Watters Primetime," Watters highlighted the murky circumstances surrounding the assassination attempt, particularly the fact that the Secret Service director, Kimberly Cheatle, allegedly misled Congress during a closed-door briefing.
"Cheatle doesn't even sound like a Secret Service director," Watters said. "She sounds like an evasive politician."
The briefing reportedly revealed that the assassin, James Crook, had conducted online searches for Trump rally dates and the dates of the Democratic National Convention. This raises questions about his motivations and potential connections to political organizations.
Furthermore, Watters pointed out that Crook was registered as a Republican but had donated to Democrats, an apparent contradiction that underscores the complexity of the situation.
The incident also raised concerns about security lapses within the Secret Service. Watters revealed that two Secret Service agents who were famously photographed on the rooftop behind Trump were not the ones who ultimately killed Crook. Instead, another sniper fired the fatal shot from an undisclosed location.
"It's so bizarre," Watters said. "We're getting leaks from the intelligence community that the Iranians have a fatwa on 45 [Trump] and 'there may be more attempts on Trump's life in the coming weeks.'"
Watters emphasized the gravity of the situation and the need for accountability. He called for a thorough investigation into the assassination attempt, including a review of Secret Service protocols and the potential involvement of foreign actors.
"We need to do a full investigation and make sure this never happens again," Watters said. "This is completely unacceptable."
