As part of the plea deal, Margera will serve six months of probation and undergo random drug testing. The Chester County judge presiding over the case warned Margera that he could face jail time if he violated the terms of his probation, which include staying clean and sober.

Margera's attorney, William J. Brennan, stated that his client is now "clean, sober, and productive," and that he had taken significant steps to turn his life around since his arrest last year. "You can really say he won his case before today just by turning his life around," Brennan said.

In court, Margera admitted that his arrest had been beneficial to him. "I would go on drinking benders and it was not good. I would end up in some crazy situations," he said. "It actually took that knowing that if I p--- hot, I'm going to jail and I don't want that."

Margera's brother, Jesse, had testified at a court hearing following Margera's arrest that his brother had exhibited troubling behavior for decades and had been awake for days at the time of the incident. Jesse suffered a ruptured eardrum in the altercation.

Margera's father, Phil, and mother, April, were present in court on Thursday to support their son. "We all love him and just want him to do great," April Margera said. "He's been through a lot in his life. He's had a lot of access, and he's had a lot of power, and it's hard to come down from that."

Following his plea, Margera expressed gratitude for the opportunity to turn his life around. "It really helped and now that I've done this amount of time, I don't want to go back to that lifestyle," he said.
