Biden Claims Latest Criticism Comes from 'Elites' Despite Health Concerns

President Biden's physician has confirmed that a neurologist who specializes in Parkinson's disease has been part of the President's annual physical examinations, amid ongoing concerns about his health and mental acuity. However, the President maintains that his support base remains strong among "average voters," dismissing criticism from "elites."

President Biden's physician, Kevin O'Connor, has confirmed that a neurologist specializing in Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, Dr. Kevin Cannard, has participated in Biden's annual physical examinations. This disclosure follows heightened concerns about the President's health and mental fitness, fueled by reports of multiple visits to the White House by Parkinson's experts.

In a letter released Monday night, Dr. O'Connor stated that Dr. Cannard was selected not for his expertise in movement disorders but for his "wide expertise" as a highly trained and respected neurologist. He emphasized that Biden has not consulted with any neurologists outside of his annual physicals.

Dr. O'Connor's letter noted that no signs of neurological disorders were detected during Biden's physical in February, including Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, ascending lateral sclerosis, stroke, or cervical myelopathy. He referred to his previous letter, dated February 28, which stated that a "detailed neurological exam" revealed no findings consistent with cerebellar or other central neurological disorders.

Despite these assurances, questions about Biden's health and mental fitness persist. The New York Post reported that a Parkinson's expert from Walter Reed visited the White House at least eight times in an eight-month period, including a January 17 meeting with Dr. O'Connor.

Dr. O'Connor's letter provided background on Dr. Cannard's qualifications, highlighting his role as the neurology consultant to the White House Medical Unit since 2012. He noted that Dr. Cannard has examined Biden for each of his annual physicals, including the most recent one in February.

Before and after the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Cannard conducted regular neurology clinics at the White House medical clinic for active-duty military members assigned to support White House operations. Dr. O'Connor emphasized that many military personnel experience neurological issues related to their service.

Concerns about Biden's health and mental fitness intensified following his perceived weak performance in last month's debate with former President Trump. Several Democrats have publicly called for Biden to exit the presidential race, while others continue to express support for his re-election campaign.

President Biden has repeatedly stated his intention to remain in the race and defeat Trump for a second time in November. He has dismissed criticism from "elites," claiming that his support base among "average voters" remains strong.
