In a segment on his nightly show "Hannity," Fox News host Sean Hannity sounded the alarm over President Biden's rapidly declining poll numbers, citing economic anxiety and a split base as major contributing factors.

Hannity pointed to a recent CNN poll showing that Donald Trump has opened up a significant six-point lead over Biden nationwide, nearly double the margin of error. When third-party candidates are considered, Trump's lead widens to nine points. The key drivers behind these numbers, according to the poll, are the economy and immigration.

"A whopping 66% of voters disapprove of Joe Biden's handling of the economy," Hannity emphasized, citing the CNN poll. "And it's not just fake news CNN."

Hannity also referred to a recent CBS poll in three key battleground states – Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin – which revealed that a large majority of Americans believe they would be financially better off if Trump wins in November.

"In all three states, an overwhelming majority of voters believe the economy was better under Donald Trump," Hannity noted. "Most believe the economy has gotten worse since the end of the pandemic."

Trump's lead has also extended to a question that often serves as a bellwether for electoral success, according to Hannity. "Who better understands people like you?" Hannity asked, referring to a recent poll. "They can't answer are you better off than you were four years ago?"

Hannity also highlighted a recent Bloomberg morning console poll showing Trump winning six out of seven swing states. Additionally, he cited a Gallup poll finding that Biden is the least popular president in modern history, while a Harvard/Harris poll showed Trump leading Biden in both a head-to-head matchup and a three-way race against Biden and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

To make matters worse for Biden, Hannity pointed to a recent Harvard/Harris poll that found that 57% of Americans believe Democrats are "using the legal system in biased ways to take out a political opponent." Furthermore, 64% indicated that Biden's cognitive decline is getting worse every day.

"The polls are now so bad that during a podcast featuring Biden, Clinton, and Obama, actor Jason Bateman suggested that Joe, why don't you go on Hannity's program for an hour and defend your great record?" Hannity said. "But instead of providing a thoughtful answer, well, he needed his former partner, Barack Obama, to step in, leading to a lot of questions."

"Really? How much influence does Obama have over Joe Biden?" Hannity asked. "You decide."

Hannity's segment serves as a stark reminder of the challenges facing President Biden as he approaches the midterm elections. With the economy remaining a top concern for voters and his base showing signs of division, Biden's poll numbers may continue to sink, casting doubt on the prospects of his party in November.
