Biden's Disastrous Debate Performance Sparks Calls for Withdrawal

After President Biden's dismal performance in the recent CNN Presidential Debate, calls for him to withdraw from the 2024 race have intensified dramatically, even from within the liberal media.

President Joe Biden's hapless performance in the CNN Presidential Debate has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, triggering a growing chorus of pleas for him to abandon his re-election bid. Among the most vocal critics is comedian Bill Maher, who has been a vocal advocate for replacing Biden on the Democratic ticket.

"I have said before, I will vote for his head in a jar of blue liquid. After last night, time to get the jar," Maher quipped during a panel discussion on his show "Real Time" Friday night.

Maher cited the dismal flash poll results, which showed Trump winning by a landslide, as evidence of Biden's unsuitability for office. "33, that number rings in my mind. Because you know what that number is? That's the number you always see very close- 33, 34, 32 of the people who are just always with their party," he said.

Maher believes that Biden's stubborn refusal to step aside will ultimately lead to an electoral disaster for the Democrats. "He is going to lose. I said it nine months ago. I'm gonna say it again tonight. And now, it seems like it's so apparent," he stated.

Another prominent liberal voice, journalist Tina Brown, echoed Maher's concerns, describing the Left as "aggressively anti-common sense." She expressed particular dismay over Biden's gaffe about "finally beating Medicare."

"It reminded me of when Mike Tyson used to knock guys out in 90 seconds. Like that was like two minutes into the debate and I went like ‘Oh, this election is over.’ That was like a haymaker," Maher said.

He continued, "I feel like the whole rationale for Biden running has always been 'I'm the only guy who can beat him.' Now I think it's inverted. I think he's the only guy who could lose to him."

The tide of criticism has even reached the hallowed halls of the New York Times, whose editorial board published a scathing denunciation of Biden's candidacy.

"Mr. Biden has been an admirable president. Under his leadership, the nation has prospered and begun to address a range of long-term challenges, and the wounds ripped open by Mr. Trump have begun to heal. But the greatest public service Mr. Biden can now perform is to announce that he will not continue to run for re-election," the Times editorial board wrote.

As the pressure mounts, Biden has received a modicum of support from fellow Democrats, including former President Obama.

"Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know," Obama said in a statement Friday. "But this election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself. Between someone who tells the truth; who knows right from wrong and will give it to the American people straight — and someone who lies through his teeth for his own benefit. Last night didn’t change that, and it’s why so much is at stake in November."

However, these expressions of loyalty are becoming increasingly scarce as the realization dawns that Biden's continued presence on the Democratic ticket could spell doom for the party. With the clock ticking on the 2024 election, the calls for Biden to withdraw are likely to grow louder and more insistent.
