Biden's Economic Claims Under Fire from New York Post

President Biden's recent interview with CNN has drawn criticism from the New York Post, which alleges that he made numerous false statements regarding the economy and other issues.

In a blistering editorial, the New York Post accused President Biden of telling "a lie a minute" during his interview with CNN's Erin Burnett. The editorial board listed 15 alleged lies, including claims about job creation, inflation, and Israel.

One of the key allegations is that Biden inflated his job creation record. The Post claims that Biden's claim to have created over 15 million jobs is false, as he took office at the tail end of the pandemic when the economy was already recovering.

The editorial board also disputed Biden's claim that former President Trump lost more jobs than he created. It argues that Trump presided over a global pandemic and that liberals were the ones who advocated for government stimulus checks and lockdowns that took people out of the workforce.

Biden's assertion that inflation was 9% when he took office was also labeled a lie. The Post points out that inflation was only 1.4% in January 2021, and that it skyrocketed after Biden's "first-year drunken-sailor spending spree."

The editorial also criticized Biden's claims that Trump would make Medicare more expensive, that corporate greed is the primary driver of inflation, and that Americans have more money to spend.

The New York Times recently raised concerns about the lack of sit-down interviews with Biden in which journalists ask tough questions. The Post's editorial board echoed these concerns, arguing that Biden's interview with Burnett demonstrated why the White House has avoided such encounters.

The editorial concluded by questioning Biden's claim that world leaders have expressed concern about democracy if he loses the next election. "Are other world leaders really pulling Biden aside after his nap and saying 'democracy is at stake' if he loses? Give us a break," the Post wrote.

The White House has not yet responded to Fox News Digital's request for comment on the editorial.

The criticism from the New York Post highlights the growing scrutiny of Biden's economic and other claims. It remains to be seen how these allegations will impact his approval ratings and his chances of re-election in 2024.
