Billy Ray Cyrus released alleged love notes from his soon-to-be ex-wife, Firerose, after she filed a counter complaint claiming he was abusive. The notes allegedly contradict her allegations of verbal, emotional, and psychological abuse.
Following Firerose's counter complaint on June 14 alleging abuse, Billy Ray Cyrus' lawyers released a statement to Fox News Digital addressing the claims. They expressed regret over Firerose choosing to litigate the marriage in the press and stated that Cyrus had no choice but to set the record straight.
The statement highlighted that Firerose's allegations were "especially confusing and suspicious" due to her subsequent attempts to reconcile with Cyrus. They provided a handwritten note allegedly from Firerose professing her love and need for Cyrus.

"I miss you more than I can possibly explain in words Baby. Please let's work this out and not become anything but closer out of this hellish experience. I need you. I love you. I am so sorry," the note read.
The lawyers also shared a screenshot of a text message allegedly from Firerose following the split, expressing her desire to avoid conflict and her love for Cyrus. They emphasized that these communications contradicted her claims of abuse.

"If Mr. Cyrus was truly guilty of the allegations that Ms. Hodges alleges in her pleadings, then it is mindboggling to try and explain why she would want to return to live with him. Furthermore, she was pleading with him to give her a chance to explain everything to him," they wrote.
The amended and supplemental complaint filed by Cyrus claims that Firerose entered the relationship with the sole intention of marrying him to obtain the name "Cyrus" for her music career. He alleges that she lied about being previously married and never having used the name "Hodges."

Additionally, Cyrus claims that out of kindness and concern for Firerose's career and citizenship path, he initially filed for an annulment without specifying the reasons for fraud. However, he felt compelled to disclose the truth after her counter complaint.
Cyrus also filed an emergency motion for a temporary restraining order due to 37 unauthorized charges made on his business American Express card by Firerose. However, Firerose claims that she has had access to the card since October 2022 and that her spending was in accordance with the status quo during the marriage.
