"Bro, right there – comply! I’m just trying to keep you alive," Newton said. "I’m not talking to Tyreek Hill more than I’m talking to everybody else that’s going to get pulled over on a day-to-day basis."
Newton was particularly astonished when Hill rolled the window back up after initially rolling it down.

"When you roll the window down, and you roll the window back up, bro don’t do that. You can’t do that," Newton said. "It puts you in danger, and you have to put yourself in the officer’s position. He don’t know what the hell is in that damn car."
Newton made it clear that he was not taking the officers’ side in the situation, but he was trying to express "how this situation could have played out a little different." He added that if Hill was just a regular person, he was "resisting arrest."

"When they say get out that damn car, it’s over with," he added.
After the incident, Hill received two traffic citations. He has since called for the firing of the officer involved, who has been placed on administrative duties.

The Miami Dolphins have not publicly commented on the release of the bodycam footage or Newton's analysis. The team has been focused on preparing for their upcoming game against the Baltimore Ravens.
Newton concluded his analysis by reiterating his belief that Hill could have handled the situation differently.
"Tyreek Hill, man, you know what? You’ve got to comply. And that’s what I would say to anybody else," Newton said. "Comply, and it’s over with. You don’t want to be in the news … It’s like, what is the underlying issue? Why do we continue to do this? And that’s just me revealing my heart and spirit to you."
