Boise State extended its winning streak to five games with a commanding 48-14 victory over Hawaii on Saturday afternoon at Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex. The Broncos controlled the game from start to finish, showcasing an impressive display of offensive firepower and defensive resilience.
Honolulu, Hawaii – Boise State University's football team put on a dominant performance, cruising to a 48-14 victory over the University of Hawaii on Saturday afternoon.
Boise State Dominates Hawaii in Mountain West Clash
The Broncos (5-1, 2-0 Mountain West) scored touchdowns on their first four possessions, building a 28-0 lead midway through the second quarter. Hawaii (2-4, 0-2) managed to score a touchdown late in the half, but Boise State responded with another touchdown to maintain a comfortable 35-7 advantage at the break.
In the second half, Boise State continued to control the game, adding two more touchdowns to its tally while holding Hawaii scoreless. The Broncos' defense played a stellar game, limiting Hawaii to just 255 yards of total offense.
Boise State quarterback Hank Bachmeier was sharp throughout the contest, completing 20 of 28 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns. Running back George Holani led the Broncos' rushing attack with 120 yards on 20 carries.
On the other side of the field, Hawaii quarterback Bradlee Anae struggled to find his rhythm, completing just 12 of 24 passes for 142 yards and an interception. Hawaii's running game was also ineffective, as the Warriors managed only 113 yards on the ground.
With the victory, Boise State extends its winning streak to five games and remains atop the Mountain West standings. The Broncos will have a bye next week before returning to action on October 26th against the University of Nevada, Reno.
Hawaii, meanwhile, falls to 2-4 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. The Warriors will look to bounce back next week when they travel to face the University of Utah State.
