In the midst of the Trump hush money trial, Greg Gutfeld took aim at the media's disappointment over the case's fall apart and Michael Cohen's damaging testimony.

"He asked about the $50,000. That's irrelevant to the $130,000. And that's where he very effectively got Michael Cohen to say, to agree that yes, he stole $30,000," said Gutfeld, mocking Lawrence O'Donnell's defense of Cohen.

Cohen, Trump's former attorney, stunned the court by admitting to embezzling $30,000 from the Trump Organization, a revelation that left the media in disbelief.

"I'm still kind of reeling from the revelation that Michael Cohen stole money from the Trump Organization. That was just kind of stunning," said CNN's Jake Tapper.

Gutfeld questioned how Cohen's embezzlement escaped the attention of the prosecution, suggesting they may have been misled by Cohen.

"You'd think they would have covered this in witness prep. I mean, if you're going to put Jeffrey Dahmer on the stand, you tell him please don't bring up your favorite recipes," said Gutfeld.

The media's reaction to Cohen's theft highlighted their prior conviction that he was deeply involved in a conspiracy with Trump to defraud the electorate.

"So the guy who supposedly was deep in cahoots with Trump on a master plan to defraud the electorate was actually stealing from Trump," said Gutfeld. "Come on. If you can't trust a convicted perjurer, who can you trust?"

Gutfeld expressed concern over the left's reliance on lawfare, targeting Republican politicians and lawyers with criminal and civil litigation, as well as disbarment proceedings.

"There's a whole new round going on in Arizona, as another election interference case is underway to attack and bankrupt Republicans," said Gutfeld. "Of course, Arizona is a swing state and Trump is up in the polls. Must be a coincidence, right?"

Gutfeld also criticized Judge Juan Merchan's handling of the trial, particularly his treatment of Trump's team and his allowance of irrelevant testimony about Trump's personal life.

"Enough already. Merchan, do your job and strike this entire affair," said Gutfeld. "And let America go back to being the country where Banana Republic only refers to the place where I shop in the boy's department."
