Nick Bosa, the star defensive end for the San Francisco 49ers, has high praise for quarterback Brock Purdy's leadership abilities, which he believes are similar to those of two-time major winner Scottie Scheffler. However, Bosa made one notable distinction between the two athletes: Purdy's clean arrest record.

Speaking with the media after organized team activities (OTAs) on Tuesday, Bosa raved about Purdy's leadership, which played a key role in the 49ers' consecutive appearances in the NFC Championship game and Super Bowl.

"I think he's definitely getting a little more vocal within the building," Bosa said. "I don't think he's ever going to change. I don't think he's somebody that's going to change even when he gets paid next year. He's a man of faith."

Bosa went on to compare Purdy's personality to that of Scheffler, who has won two major championships on the PGA Tour, but then jokingly pointed out the obvious difference between the two athletes: Purdy's unblemished arrest record.

"He kind of reminds me of Scottie Schefler, except he didn't get arrested," Bosa said, drawing laughter from the media.

Bosa clarified that he does not know Scheffler personally and emphasized that Purdy is "just super humble and a really good kid."

Scheffler, who is a fan favorite on the PGA Tour, made headlines over the weekend when he was arrested early Friday morning before the PGA Championship. According to an arrest report, Scheffler was driving a credentialed PGA courtesy car when an officer said he "refused to comply and accelerated forward, dragging" the officer to the ground.

Police were already on the scene investigating the death of a volunteer who was hit by a bus outside the golf course. Scheffler is currently facing four charges and his court appearance has been postponed until June 3.

Meanwhile, an investigation is underway to determine whether law enforcement followed the proper protocols during the incident. Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said Tuesday that the investigation is ongoing.
