Browns' Foreman Returns to Team After Hospitalization for Head Injury

Cleveland Browns' running back D'Onta Foreman returned to the team Friday after being hospitalized with a head injury. The player was discharged from the hospital and will be traveling back to camp in Ohio.

Cleveland Browns running back D'Onta Foreman made a miraculous return to the team on Friday, just one day after being airlifted to a hospital in Roanoke, Virginia, with a head injury sustained in practice. The 28-year-old was injured during a special teams drill during the Browns' opening week of practice at The Greenbrier Resort.

According to a team spokesman, Foreman was released from the hospital and will be traveling back to Ohio with the team on Friday. Foreman thankfully never lost feeling in his extremities after receiving a direct blow to the head. He was wearing a padded, protective Guardian Cap over his helmet at the time of the impact.

Browns' head coach Kevin Stefanski expressed relief over Foreman's recovery, commenting, "Scary, thank God he's OK."

The Browns signed Foreman as a free agent in March to provide depth as star running back Nick Chubb recovers from a season-ending knee injury. Foreman has previously played for the Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans, Carolina Panthers, and Chicago Bears, accumulating 2,326 rushing yards and 14 career touchdowns.

The Browns' medical staff took swift action, immobilizing Foreman on the field as a precaution before flying him to the medical center 80 miles away. Foreman's swift recovery is a testament to the medical team's expertise and the protective measures in place for players on the field.

In addition to Foreman's return, the Browns also welcomed back quarterback Deshaun Watson on Friday. Watson had been serving an 11-game suspension for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

Watson and Foreman's return is a boost to the Browns' offense, which is looking to rebound from a disappointing 7-10 season in 2022. With Chubb expected to return later in the season, the Browns will have a formidable running back tandem to complement Watson's passing attack.

The Browns will continue their training camp at The Greenbrier Resort before their preseason opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 12th. Foreman and Watson's return will undoubtedly bolster the team's morale and give fans hope for a successful season in 2023.
