Bruce Springsteen's highly anticipated European stadium tour has hit a temporary snag as the legendary singer has been forced to postpone three more concerts due to ongoing vocal issues. The decision was announced on Springsteen's official Instagram account, where he and his band, the E Street Band, expressed their disappointment and explained the circumstances behind the postponements.

"Following yesterday's postponement in Marseille due to vocal issues, further examination and consulting has led doctors to determine that Bruce should not perform for the next ten days," the statement read. "With this in mind, additional postponements are required for Airport Letnany in Prague (originally scheduled for May 28) and San Siro Stadium in Milan (originally scheduled for June 1 and 3)."

Springsteen's vocal issues first surfaced last night in Marseille, where he was scheduled to perform at the Orange Vélodrome. However, after experiencing difficulties with his voice, the show was ultimately postponed.

The decision to postpone additional shows was made after further medical evaluation and consultations, which indicated that Springsteen's vocal cords required additional rest and recovery. The statement emphasized that Springsteen is "recuperating comfortably" and that he and the E Street Band are eager to resume their tour on June 12 in Madrid at the Civitas Metropolitan.

Fans who have purchased tickets for the affected shows are advised to contact their original point of purchase for refund options.

Springsteen's vocal issues come as a setback for the singer, who had recently resumed his tour in March of this year after having to cancel all his 2023 tour dates due to peptic ulcer disease. In October 2023, Springsteen opened up about the pain he was in from the disease, colloquially described as a burning stomach pain.

Despite the setbacks, Springsteen's dedication to his fans and his passion for performing remain unwavering. In a statement released after the initial postponement in Marseille, Springsteen expressed his regret for the inconvenience caused and his gratitude for the understanding of his fans.

"I am so sorry for having to postpone the show tonight in Marseille," Springsteen said. "I have been struggling with some vocal issues and my doctors have advised me not to perform tonight."

Springsteen concluded the statement by saying, "I am determined to play for my fans in Marseille as soon as my voice recovers. I will be back as soon as I can."

Springsteen's commitment to his fans was evident when he kicked off his revived tour in Phoenix, Arizona, on March 19, 2024. Despite the challenges he had faced, Springsteen delivered an unforgettable performance, addressing the crowd by saying, "Phoenix, first I want to apologize if there was any discomfort because we had to move the show last time. … I hope we didn’t inconvenience you too much."

Springsteen's passion for music and his unwavering determination to connect with his fans are testaments to his enduring legacy as one of the most iconic and beloved performers of our time.
