Dujardin, a two-time Olympic champion and multiple World and European medallist, has denied any wrongdoing and has requested a hearing before the FEI Tribunal.

The FEI announced the suspension in a statement on its website, stating that it had opened a disciplinary proceeding against Dujardin "based on the findings of an FEI Equine Anti-Doping and Controlled Medication Case."

The statement added that "the FEI Equine Anti-Doping and Controlled Medication Rules (EADCMRs) prohibit the presence of morphine in competition horses" and that "any violation of the EADCMRs is punishable by a suspension."

Dujardin has requested a hearing before the FEI Tribunal, which will be held at a later date. The Tribunal will determine whether Dujardin has violated the FEI EADCMRs and, if so, what sanctions should be imposed.

The provisional suspension means that Dujardin is not allowed to compete in any FEI events, including the upcoming Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final in Leipzig, Germany, and the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final in Göteborg, Sweden.

Dujardin is one of the most successful dressage riders in history. She has won two Olympic gold medals, four World Championship gold medals, and five European Championship gold medals.

She is also a multiple winner of the FEI Dressage World Cup™ Final and the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Final.

Dujardin's provisional suspension is a major blow to British Dressage and to the sport of dressage as a whole.

It is important to note that Dujardin has denied any wrongdoing and that she has the right to a fair hearing before the FEI Tribunal.
