Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter has broken her silence on the hip-check she delivered to Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark, sparking a heated debate within the WNBA community. "I'm going to compete and play 100% hard no matter who it is or who we're playing," Carter declared, according to CBS Chicago. "I have no regrets about what happened."

Carter dismissed the criticism she and the Sky have faced since the game, acknowledging the barrage of negativity but maintaining a resolute attitude. "We've been able to take a lot of hits in the last 24, 48 hours. I'm over here smiling. I'm not complaining... At the end of the day, it's all love outside of basketball. When we're in those four lines, it's smoke. After, it's all love," she said, as reported by the Daily Herald.

Despite her initial reluctance to discuss the foul in the post-game press conference, Carter took to social media, particularly her Threads account, to address the incident. In response to a post about her press conference, Carter criticized Clark's overall skills, stating, "And that's that on that cause besides three-point shooting what does she bring to the table man."

In another post, she acknowledged Reese's support after the incident, writing, "My dawg fasho, got all my teammates."

While the Fever, including head coach Christie Sides and general manager Lin Dunn, expressed concerns about Carter's foul, Clark downplayed the significance of the hit. "I wasn't expecting it," Clark said after the game. "It is what it is. It's a physical game. Go make the free throw and execute on offense, and I feel like that's kind of what we did."

The WNBA season has just begun, and these two teams are set for three more matchups in the regular season, with June 16 marking their next encounter in Indiana. The heated debate surrounding Carter's hip-check is likely to continue as the rivalry between these two talented guards unfolds throughout the season.
