Chris Christie Bashed by 'The View' Hosts for Refusing to Vote for Biden

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie faced sharp criticism from the co-hosts of "The View" after declaring he would not vote for either Donald Trump or Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential election.

Former New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie drew the ire of the co-hosts of "The View" when he declared that he would not cast his ballot for either former President Donald Trump or President Joe Biden in the upcoming presidential election.

Christie's refusal to pledge his support for the Democratic ticket came in response to a question from co-host Ana Navarro, who asked him whether he would vote for a Democratic ticket given that he had ruled out voting for Trump.

"Right now, I'm not voting for either. I'm just not. I can't. One guy is completely mentally incompetent to do the job —" Christie replied, prompting an uproar from the co-hosts.

"But you have to vote!" interjected co-host Joy Behar.

"No, I'm gonna vote down ticket. I don't have to vote [for president], no!" Christie retorted, standing his ground.

"You cannot throw away your vote! I asked you the last time you were on, Chris, and you're gonna sit this one out?" implored co-host Sunny Hostin.

Christie defended his position, arguing that it was ironic for Democrats to urge him to support Biden when they themselves were calling for his removal from office. He maintained that he would not vote for Biden as long as he remained the Democratic nominee but left open the possibility of changing his mind if a more suitable candidate emerged.

"I'm willing to consider anybody who presents themself as someone who will make the country better. Now, I'm not encouraged by Kamala Harris' performance thus far," he said.

Hostin pressed Christie on his reasons for not supporting Harris, but he deflected the question, claiming a lack of time.

When asked why he was not yet committing to vote for Biden, Christie joked that he would write in Joy Behar as his candidate of choice.

Hostin has been a vocal supporter of Harris, defending her against criticism that she is unqualified or ineffective.

After Christie declared that the Biden-Harris ticket would not win in November, Behar asked if he would be willing to vote for a Harris-Joe Shapiro ticket, featuring the more moderate governor of Pennsylvania as the vice president.

"Don't know. Let me see what they have to say," Christie replied.

Multiple hosts objected to this answer, prompting Christie to declare, "I'm sorry that I care for what people stand for. I apologize. I'm not gonna pre-commit to it! Let them perform and earn my vote! People should have their vote earned!"

As the discussion drew to a close, Behar expressed confidence that Christie would eventually vote for Biden, to which Christie responded, "Voting for you, Joy. I'll write you in!"
