Chris Pratt opens up about his parenting style, explaining that he wants to raise his children in a way that allows them to feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Chris Pratt, known for his roles in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Super Mario Bros. Movie," recently shared his thoughts on parenting, revealing that he's taken a different approach to raising his three kids.
At the premiere of "Garfield," Pratt explained that he wants his children to feel comfortable expressing themselves, something he didn't experience as a child.
"I think there's a new age of parenting," Pratt said. "I grew up. I did exactly what my parents said all the time. I never knew I could say 'no' to my parents."
"So we're trying to raise them in a way that they feel comfortable expressing themselves," he continued.
Pratt's wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, is also reportedly supportive of his parenting style. The couple welcomed their first daughter, Lyla, in August 2020, and their second daughter, Eloise, in May 2022.
Pratt also shares a son, Jack, with his ex-wife, Anna Faris.
In addition to his thoughts on parenting, Pratt also spoke about his upcoming film, "The Super Mario Bros. Movie." Pratt voices the titular character, Mario, in the highly anticipated animated film.
"It's one of the reasons it's such an easy yes," Pratt said of his decision to take on the role. "If a job like this comes across, you know, I say, 'Wow, of course I would love to lend my voice and spirit to this iconic character.' And it's all the better that my children can watch this movie and go, 'Whoa, that was my dad who did that. That's good. That's neat.'"
Pratt's parenting journey has also been praised by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who gushed about Pratt's love for his daughter, Katherine, during a recent interview.
"I’m really happy that my daughter has found him," Schwarzenegger said. "And that he has found her… they found each other. Because they fit really well together, and they just look wonderful together. They’re so in love with each other."
As Pratt and Schwarzenegger continue to navigate the world of parenting, it's evident that they're committed to fostering a loving and supportive environment for their children.
