However, amidst the challenges, Applegate found solace and strength in the unwavering support of her loved ones, particularly her daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble.

Recalling the day she received the devastating diagnosis, Applegate confided in James Corden on SiriusXM's "This Life of Mine with James Corden," describing the months leading up to the revelation as a period marked by a series of inexplicable symptoms. "For years and years and years, I'd have, like, some weird things … balance issues, speech issues," Applegate recounted. "My hands would shake sometimes, and I remember playing tennis – I played tennis a couple times a week, and my knee would go out."

In January 2021, just as Applegate was preparing to shoot the final season of "Dead to Me," the numbness in her toes, a symptom she initially ignored, became more pronounced. "Things just started to get weirder and weirder," she explained. "I was like, 'You guys, I can't even walk up the steps to my trailer.'"

Driven by the persistent symptoms, Applegate sought professional evaluation, including an MRI scan of her brain. While at work, she received an urgent call from her doctor requesting a telehealth consultation to review her results.

"I have to leave. I have to go home and be there at seven," Applegate recalled telling her colleagues, determined to leave before filming concluded. "I just said, 'I can't. I gotta go home.'"

Upon returning home, Applegate connected with her doctor via Zoom, who delivered the life-altering diagnosis. "He just looked at me, and he goes, 'I'm so sorry,'" she said. "I was like, 'What do you mean?' He goes, 'Here's a picture of your brain. Sorry,' and there's like 30 lesions all over my brain and I went, 'No, please don't tell me this.'"

Overwhelmed by emotion, Applegate struggled to process the news. "I had to call production," she said. "I said, 'You guys, it's f---ing MS,' and they're like, 'OK, we're shutting down for the week.'"

Despite the setbacks, Applegate found determination and support amidst her diagnosis. "We finished it," she said of filming the final season of "Dead to Me." "It took us a long time, but we finished it."

Applegate's daughter, Sadie, played a pivotal role in her journey, offering constant love and encouragement. "She's the most important person in my life," Applegate said of her daughter. "I would not be able to do this without her."

In her public announcement of her diagnosis on Twitter, Applegate expressed her gratitude for the support she had received from her loved ones, particularly her daughter. "It's been a strange journey," she wrote. "But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition. It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going."

Applegate's resilience and determination have served as an inspiration for others facing similar challenges. Her unwavering bond with her daughter underscores the profound impact of love and support in navigating life's adversities.
