The 35-year-old singer, whose real name is Yosdany Jacob Carmenates, was discovered unresponsive in his vehicle on Saturday night. He was rushed to hospital and underwent emergency surgery.

El Taiger's family and friends have been posting updates on his condition on social media. His wife, Ana Cervantes, wrote on Instagram: "Only a miracle can bring him back. We are praying for him."

El Taiger's publicist, Jonathan Quintana, said the singer is in a coma and on life support.

"He is in critical condition," Quintana said. "We are hoping for a miracle."

El Taiger is a Grammy-nominated reggaeton artist who has been performing for over a decade. He is known for his hits such as "Habla Matador" and "La Última Vez."

El Taiger has collaborated with some of the biggest names in reggaeton, including Daddy Yankee, Nicky Jam, and Ozuna.

In 2020, El Taiger was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album for his album "El Taiger."

El Taiger's shooting has shocked the Cuban and Latin music community. Many artists have posted messages of support on social media.

"We are praying for El Taiger," wrote urbano artist J Balvin. "He is a fighter and we believe he will pull through."

"El Taiger, you are a legend," wrote salsa singer Marc Anthony. "We are all behind you."

El Taiger's family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.
