Davante Adams Trade Rumors: Jets and Saints Emerge as Potential Destinations with Familiar QBs

Wide receiver Davante Adams has reportedly informed the Las Vegas Raiders of his desire to be traded, and two potential destinations have quickly surfaced: the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints. Both teams have connections to Adams' former quarterbacks, Aaron Rodgers and Derek Carr, respectively.

The NFL world was sent into a frenzy when superstar wide receiver Davante Adams reportedly expressed his wish to be traded from the Las Vegas Raiders. Within hours, two potential landing spots emerged, both sharing a common theme: familiarity with Adams' previous quarterbacks.

The New York Jets are reportedly Adams' preferred destination, likely influenced by the presence of his former Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. The two have a well-established connection on the field, leading the Packers to consecutive NFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl victory in 2020.

Coincidentally, the New Orleans Saints have also been linked to Adams in trade talks. This is due to their recently acquired quarterback, Derek Carr, who played with Adams at Fresno State and later reunited with him on the Raiders.

Carr has openly stated his admiration for Adams, calling him one of his "best friends" and expressing his willingness to welcome him to the Saints offense. He highlighted Adams' exceptional 2022 season, during which the wide receiver amassed over 1,500 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns with Carr at the helm.

However, Carr emphasized that he and Adams have not discussed the trade rumors, respecting the professional boundaries between their personal and business lives.

The reports of Adams' trade request come after the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the Raiders had initiated discussions with other teams to gauge their interest in acquiring the three-time First-Team All-Pro. Adams joined the Raiders in 2022 after a highly successful tenure with the Packers, where he established himself as one of the most dominant receivers in the NFL.

The 31-year-old has earned six Pro Bowl selections and two NFL receiving touchdown titles (2020, 2022). He is widely regarded as one of the elite pass-catchers in the league, with exceptional route-running, hands, and physicality.

The potential trade of Adams would be a significant shake-up in the NFL landscape. The Jets and Saints would instantly receive a major upgrade to their receiving corps, while the Raiders would lose one of their most valuable offensive weapons.

It remains to be seen whether the Jets or Saints can reach an agreement with the Raiders to acquire Adams. However, the presence of familiar quarterbacks at both destinations undoubtedly adds an intriguing layer to the situation.
