Five suspects have been apprehended by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) in Washington, D.C., following a string of burglaries and property damage incidents that plagued the city in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
According to the MPD, the incidents occurred in various neighborhoods, including City Center, Georgetown, H Street Corridor, Logan Circle, and near Columbia Heights.

"Overnight, groups of individuals decided to destroy property and burglarize businesses throughout our city, specifically in the City Center and Georgetown areas, along with a store in the H Street Corridor, a store in Logan Circle, and a store north of Columbia Heights," the police department said in a statement.
The MPD immediately responded to the reports by increasing police resources in the affected areas. A comprehensive investigation was launched, leading to the identification of six burglary incidents and six instances of property destruction.
