According to the motion, Combs claims the government was responsible for leaking a 2016 surveillance video of an alleged violent incident with his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. The video allegedly shows Combs assaulting Ventura and was obtained by CNN prior to Combs' indictment.

Combs has denied the charges and entered a not guilty plea. He is scheduled to appear in court again on October 10th.
