The Mets bounced back from their Game 1 loss to the Dodgers with a 5-2 victory in Game 3 of the NLCS at Dodger Stadium on Monday night, tying the series at 1-1.

The Los Angeles Dodgers were unable to build on their momentum from Game 1 of the National League Championship Series, falling to the New York Mets 5-2 on Monday night at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on a solo home run by Will Smith in the bottom of the first inning, but the Mets responded with three runs in the second.

Jeff McNeil singled to lead off the inning, and Brandon Nimmo followed with a double. Francisco Lindor then grounded out to third to drive in McNeil, and Pete Alonso singled to score Nimmo. Eduardo Escobar capped the inning with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Lindor.

The Mets added another run in the fourth inning on a solo home run by Starling Marte, and the Dodgers were held scoreless until the seventh inning, when they scored an unearned run on an error by Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor.

The Mets bullpen was solid once again, with Seth Lugo, David Peterson, and Trevor May combining to allow just one hit and no runs over the final four innings.

Edwin Diaz came on in the ninth inning and struck out the side, earning his third save of the postseason.

Taijuan Walker took the loss for the Dodgers, allowing four runs on eight hits over four innings.

The series now shifts to New York for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Wednesday nights at Citi Field.

The Dodgers will need to regain their offensive form from Game 1 if they want to take back home-field advantage in the series. The Mets, on the other hand, have shown that they can't be counted out, and they will be looking to win back-to-back games at home to put the Dodgers on the ropes.
