Miami Dolphins star Tyreek Hill's detention by Miami-Dade Police officers has sparked outrage among some of his teammates, with defensive back Jalen Ramsey and offensive lineman Terron Armstead expressing their dissatisfaction.

The incident, which occurred on August 22, was captured on bodycam footage that was released by the police department. The footage shows Hill being pulled over for speeding and failing to stop at a stop sign. After initially cooperating with the officers, Hill becomes agitated as he is asked to step out of his vehicle and is eventually handcuffed and placed on the ground.

In response to the criticism, Miami-Dade Police Director Stephanie V. Daniels said that one of the officers involved has been placed on "administrative duties." She also called for a "thorough review" of the incident.

"While we commend MDPD for taking the right and necessary action to quickly release this footage, we also urge them to take equally swift and strong action against the officers who engaged in such despicable behavior," the Dolphins organization said in a statement.

The South Florida Police Benevolent Association, on the other hand, defended the officers' actions, saying that Hill was "uncooperative" and that they were concerned for their safety.

"Upon being stopped, Mr. Hill was not immediately cooperative with the officers on the scene, pursuant to policy and for their immediate safety, placed Mr. Hill in handcuffs," the statement read.

However, Ramsey and Armstead remain adamant that the officers' actions were excessive and unjustified. Their outrage highlights the ongoing tension between police and communities of color, particularly in light of previous incidents of police brutality.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and it remains to be seen whether the officers involved will face any further disciplinary action. Meanwhile, the Dolphins will look to move forward from this controversy and focus on their upcoming season.
