England narrowly escaped a major upset in the Round of 16 of Euro 2024, rallying to defeat Slovakia 2-1 after trailing in the dying minutes.

Germany and Switzerland emerged as the first two nations to reach the quarterfinals, following victories over Denmark and Italy, respectively, on Saturday.
Euro 2024: England Avoids Upset, Advances to Quarterfinals
On Sunday, England found themselves on the brink of an embarrassing upset. Slovakia led 1-0 in the 95th minute before Jude Bellingham equalized. Harry Kane then scored the game-winner just three minutes later, sending England through to the next round.
Prior to the match, England was the +350 favorite to win the tournament and at -550 to defeat Slovakia.
France also advanced to the quarterfinals with a 1-0 victory over Belgium on Monday afternoon.
