The massive flag, a gift from a Marine veteran who served four tours in Iraq, measures a staggering 50 feet in length and weighs a hefty 60 pounds. John Beard explained that the colossal Old Glory serves as a tribute to the sacrifices made by all Americans who have fought to protect the nation's freedoms.

"We don't have a huge flag pole [to] put it on, so we decided, in order to show our patriotism, this is how we were going to do it. We put it on the house," Beard told "Fox & Friends First."

Unveiling the colossal flag was no simple task. Beard meticulously used ladders, ropes, and tackle to hoist the flag onto the house without damaging it. "Getting it up there and laying it across and then unfolding it and putting it up there and tacking it down, trying to be as respectful as possible to the flag," he said.

Jayden Beard, John's son, expressed his unwavering support for his father's patriotic gesture. "I very much [love my country], and I agree with my father's choice, what he's doing of covering the house," he said. "The flag really represents my freedom, everyone's freedom of speech of being able to hang this flag without any repercussions."

Reaction to the family's display has been largely positive, with neighbors expressing their admiration for their patriotism. However, John Beard acknowledges that there has been some negative feedback online from those who may not share their enthusiasm.

"We just kind of think if we're upsetting the liberals, then you must be doing something right," he quipped.
