Fever Embark on Three-Game West Coast Road Trip

The Indiana Fever embark on a three-game West Coast road trip on Wednesday, hoping to snap their four-game losing streak and earn their first win of the 2023 regular season. Their first stop is the Emerald City, where they will face the Seattle Storm at Climate Pledge Arena.

The Fever have struggled to find their footing in the early going, averaging a league-worst 65.0 points per game while allowing an average of 89.3 points to their opponents. They are also shooting just 40.5% from the field, which ranks near the bottom of the WNBA.

The Storm have also had their share of difficulties, owning a 1-3 record and coming off a 90-75 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday. Seattle is averaging 75.3 points per game, which ranks ninth in the league, and is shooting 42.3% from the field, good for seventh.

Despite their records, the Fever and Storm have a long history of competitive matchups. Seattle holds a 27-22 advantage in the all-time series, including a 14-11 mark at home.

Indiana is led by forward Victoria Vivians, who is averaging 14.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Guard Aaliyah Boston is also contributing 12.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while guard Danielle Robinson is averaging 11.0 points and 4.8 assists per game.

Seattle counters with Breanna Stewart, who is averaging 22.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. She is joined by Tina Charles, who is averaging 15.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game, and Gabby Williams, who is averaging 11.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game.

The Fever will need to play with greater discipline and efficiency on both ends of the court if they want to have a chance at upsetting the Storm. They will also need to find a way to contain Stewart, who is one of the most dangerous players in the league.

Tip-off is set for 10:00 PM ET on Wednesday. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and will also be streamed live on the WNBA League Pass streaming service.
