Without provocation, Anderson allegedly attacked the deputy and tried to grab his gun. During the assault, he bit a chunk out of the deputy's head, causing a severe wound. The sheriff's office shared a graphic picture of the injury on Facebook.

Despite the deputy's attempts to subdue Anderson with a taser, he remained combative until several other deputies arrived and restrained him. Both Anderson and the deputy were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Anderson has been charged with aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.

The Holmes County Sheriff's Office expressed outrage over the incident, calling it an "unacceptable attack on a law enforcement officer." Sheriff John Tate stated, "We will not tolerate this kind of violence against our deputies."

The deputy who was attacked remains unidentified, but authorities have praised his bravery and professionalism in handling the situation.

Sol Fest, an annual event held at Vortex Spring, is known for its eclectic lineup of music and art vendors. This year's festival took place from May 2 to May 5.

The incident has raised concerns about drug use and security at music festivals. Authorities urge attendees to be aware of their surroundings and to avoid taking illegal substances.

Florida has seen a number of violent incidents involving individuals under the influence of drugs in recent months. In a separate case, a Florida man was arrested for throwing pasta at a driver during a road rage incident over "glaring headlights."

These incidents highlight the dangers of drug use and the need for increased vigilance and safety measures at public events.
