According to TMZ, which cited court documents, Mahomes was warned for disregarding traffic signs before police ticketed him for the invalid license. He is scheduled to appear in court on the last day of July for this incident.

It remains unclear whether Mahomes' license had been suspended or revoked due to his most recent or any other DWI charge. He will face trial for the most recent DWI offense later this month.

Despite the legal troubles, his son Patrick Mahomes continued to shine on the field, winning his third Super Bowl just a week after his father's most recent arrest. It was the first time an NFL team had gone back-to-back since the New England Patriots achieved the feat in 2003 and 2004.

In late 2023, he was charged with felony assault for allegedly shoving a waiter and forcibly kissing the female owner of an Overland Park restaurant. The owner, Aspen Vaughn, stated that Jackson grabbed her by the throat and forcibly kissed her at least twice.
