Fox News host Sean Hannity reported that a suspect had been arrested and was in police custody. Hannity said that local law enforcement had confirmed that an AK-47 was discovered in the bushes.

Hannity also reported that four shots were fired, according to local law enforcement sources.

Fox News host Bret Baier spoke to Trump after the incident, and the former president praised the Secret Service for acting quickly. Trump told Baier that he was playing golf on his course in West Palm Beach on the 5th hole when the shots rang out.

Trump told Baier that he was fine and that he did not see or hear any shots near him. He said he was then put into a golf cart and quickly driven away from the scene to the clubhouse.

"Tell everybody I am fine and the Secret Service did a great job," Trump said, according to Baier.

Fox News Digital confirmed that the Attorney General had been briefed on the incident and was monitoring the situation.

The Trump National Golf Club was reportedly placed on lockdown as a precaution.

The incident occurred nearly two months after Trump was the target of an assassination attempt.
