Gen Z Voters Express Frustration over Liberal Bias on College Campuses

Gen Z voters, known for their progressive views, are increasingly frustrated with the liberal dominance on college campuses, which they say has created a culture of silenced dissent and forced them to conceal their conservative beliefs.

Gen Z voters, who are often associated with liberal values, have voiced growing irritation over the liberal bias on college campuses, which they allege has fostered an environment of silenced dissent and pressure to conform. A panel of Gen Z conservatives recently shared their experiences and concerns on "Fox & Friends," highlighting the challenges they face in expressing their political beliefs in academic settings.

Mya Conrad, a student at Belmont University, shared her experience with "Fox & Friends" on Wednesday, claiming that she has been "told I'm dangerous for the thoughts that I have" and that her "thoughts are constantly policed at school." Despite attending a private Christian university in Nashville, Conrad stated that she has been "yelled at by professors" for expressing her conservative views.

Conrad added that she does not have a single friend who is "proud of Joe Biden," but her liberal friends feel pressured to vote for him in November due to a lack of alternatives. She joined fellow conservative students William Blathras and Gaby Gerard, both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, in a panel discussion with "Fox & Friends" host Ainsley Earhardt.

Blathras expressed his frustration with the inability of students to challenge the status quo without facing repercussions, while government funding continues to support these institutions. He called for accountability between government funding and the behavior of schools towards students exercising their freedom of expression.

Gerard, who serves as Young America's Foundation Chair, echoed Blathras' concerns, emphasizing that despite paying high tuition fees to publicly funded universities, she is unable to speak freely in class without risking her grades.

Gen Z voters have emerged as a highly coveted demographic for both major political parties, with their votes potentially determining the outcome of the November elections. Some young voters have expressed concerns about President Biden's advanced age and cognitive abilities, prompting calls for younger voices in politics.

Meanwhile, conservatives have rallied around Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, who was nominated as former President Trump's vice presidential pick at the Republican National Convention this week, becoming the first millennial to be added to a major party's presidential ticket. Conrad praised the decision, stating that people her age "want the energetic ticket, not the sleepy falling upstairs ticket."

Belmont University responded to Conrad's claims in a statement to Fox News Digital, asserting that it "support[s] their right to express their opinions civilly inside and outside of the classroom" and that "any member of our community who is treated with disrespect for their opinions is encouraged to notify our Provost’s office or Student Formation team who will quickly address those concerns."
