Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt, appeared on Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" to weigh in on the commencement speech delivered by Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, which garnered backlash for its conservative views on family roles and faith.

Hunt stated that she understands Butker's stance on the importance of traditional family values, emphasizing the formative influence of her own stay-at-home mother. However, she acknowledged that not all women have the opportunity to pursue a similar path.

"For me and my life, I know it was really formative and in shaping me and my siblings into who we are," Hunt said.

When asked about Butker's criticism of pro-choice and LGBTQ+ advocacy, Hunt expressed respect for his Christian beliefs.

"For sure, and I really respect Harrison and his Christian faith and what he's accomplished on and off the field," she said.

Butker's speech emphasized the importance of women embracing roles such as wives and homemakers, drawing criticism from some who argued it perpetuated outdated gender stereotypes. Hunt acknowledged these concerns but maintained that Butker's views should not be taken as representative of the entire NFL.

"His views are not those of the NFL as an organization," NFL senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer Jonathan Beane told People magazine. "The NFL is steadfast in our commitment to inclusion, which only makes our league stronger."

In his speech, Butker also criticized "Pride month" and President Biden's stance on abortion, drawing further controversy. He argued that being Catholic did not automatically equate to progressive political views, emphasizing the need for Catholics to uphold traditional beliefs.

"From the man behind the COVID lockdowns, to the people pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America, they all have a glaring thing in common — they are Catholic," Butker said.

The Chiefs organization has not commented on Butker's speech. The kicker was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2017 but has played for the Chiefs since that year, becoming a key contributor to the team's recent successes.
