Harris's GOP Outreach: Touting Endorsements and Targeting Republican Voters

Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign is actively targeting Republican voters through paid media, grassroots digital efforts, and recent endorsements from GOP dissenters.

Vice President Kamala Harris's campaign is embarking on a concerted effort to woo Republican voters ahead of the 2024 presidential election. The campaign's strategy involves targeted paid media campaigns, grassroots-driven digital initiatives, and leveraging recent endorsements from prominent GOP figures.

"We are proud of the bipartisan groundswell behind Vice President Harris," said Ian Sams, Harris campaign spokesman. "We will continue working every day to earn the support of Republican voters who want a president like her who believes in patriotism, freedom, and our Constitution."

The campaign has touted endorsements from former Republicans and Republicans, such as former Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger, Jimmy McCain (son of late Senator John McCain), and hundreds of staffers who served under Republican administrations.

Liz Cheney, who was ousted as the House GOP Conference Chair due to her role in the House Jan. 6 Committee, has been an outspoken critic of former President Donald Trump. Adam Kinzinger, who also sat on the House Jan. 6 Committee, retired from Congress in 2022.

The Harris campaign has also emphasized the support of Republican speakers at the Democratic National Convention, including Kinzinger, Olivia Troye (former Trump White House national security official), and Stephanie Grisham (former White House press secretary).

The "Republicans for Harris" program, launched last month, has garnered endorsements from former GOP governors Bill Weld of Massachusetts and Christine Temple Whitman of New Jersey, as well as former GOP Representative Joe Walsh of Illinois.

Additionally, the Harris campaign has dedicated a "National Republican Engagement Director" to enhance outreach to independents and moderate Republicans. The campaign claims to have spent over seven figures communicating with these voters.

However, the Trump campaign has dismissed the Harris campaign's claims of GOP support. "Kamala's team is desperately grasping at straws because they are threatened by President Trump's endorsements from influential former Democrats like RFK Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard," said Trump campaign national press secretary Karoline Leavitt. "No conservative in their right mind will be voting for radical Marxist, weak-on-crime, open border, high tax Kamala Harris."

The Trump campaign's recent endorsements from former Democrat Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Democrat Representative Tulsi Gabbard have boosted their coalition of supporters across partisan lines. RFK Jr. and Gabbard joined the Trump transition team last week.
