The suspects forced their way into the home and bound the woman with zip ties, while her one-year-old and three-year-old children were present. They proceeded to ransack the house, demanding valuables.

A neighbor alerted authorities, and officers arrived at the scene. Upon entering the home, they encountered two suspects, one of whom, 38-year-old Michael Perez, was apprehended. However, as the second suspect, 35-year-old Raymond Perez, emerged from a back room, he opened fire on the officers, striking Officer S. Durfee in the leg.

Police apprehended Raymond Perez approximately one block away from the home. He has been charged with aggravated assault against a public servant, aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

SWAT team officers later tracked down and arrested Garcia Chavez several hours later. He and Michael Perez were both charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

The homeowner, who is the woman's father, told local media that his daughter initially thought the suspects were delivery workers but was quickly proven wrong. "As soon as she opened the door, he pulled a gun out of a DoorDash bag, and he forced entry," he said.
