Jamie-Lynn Sigler, known for her role in "The Sopranos," has revealed that her 10-year-old son, Beau, is battling an autoimmune disorder known as acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) after a "nightmare" ICU visit.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler, best known for her role as Meadow Soprano in the hit HBO series "The Sopranos," has shared a harrowing account of her son's recent health struggles. In an emotional Instagram post, Sigler detailed the "nightmare" ICU visit that led to Beau's diagnosis with acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM), a rare neurological immune response.

Sigler recounted how what initially seemed like a routine virus for Beau quickly turned into a life-threatening situation. Describing the harrowing moment, Sigler wrote, "On the drive [to the infectious disease doctor] he was screaming in pain, in a way that no mother should ever see her kid scream." The doctors advised her to take Beau to the infectious disease appointment first, but as they entered the doctor's office, they were immediately sent back to the ER. Beau was admitted into the ICU, where his condition deteriorated rapidly.

"During his time in the ICU, Beau lost his ability to speak and, at one point, his ability to move his legs," Sigler shared. "It was and has been like the darkest, hardest, most f---ed up thing I've ever been through."

While Beau is no longer in the ICU, he remains hospitalized and is struggling with psychosis. Sigler expressed her fears about the future, questioning Beau's identity and the impact of his condition on their lives. However, she also expressed profound gratitude for the army of support around her, including her husband, Cutter, and her older son, Jack.
