"I think she's a great candidate," Fonda said. "I think she's got all the qualities that we need in a president. She's smart, she's experienced, she's compassionate, and she's a good person."

When asked about her thoughts on patriarchy, Fonda said that the opposite of patriarchy is democracy.

"I think patriarchy is a system of power that is based on the domination of women by men," Fonda said. "And I think that democracy is a system of power that is based on the equal participation of all people. So, I think the opposite of patriarchy is democracy."

Fonda also spoke about the importance of women's anger.

"I think women are angry," Fonda said. "And I think that's good. We have a lot to be angry about. We still don't even have the ERA in our Constitution. We are one of the few countries where women are not in the nation's constitution. Hopefully, that is going to change soon. Our body integrity, our body agency, is being taken from us. We have every reason to be angry."

Fonda, who rose to prominence as an actress in the 20th century before embracing activism, said that she is proud of her trip to Vietnam in 1972, even though it became a scandal when she posed with an anti-aircraft gun.

"I am proud I went to Vietnam when I did," Fonda said. "I am so sorry that I was thoughtless enough to sit down on that gun at that time and the message that that sends to the guys who were there and their families – it's just horrible for me to think of that."

Fonda's comments come as Biden faces questions about his age and mental fitness for office. Some critics have argued that Biden is too old to be president, while others have raised concerns about his mental sharpness. However, Fonda's defense of Biden is likely to give his supporters a boost of confidence.
