Jeopardy! Contestants Puzzled by Eric Andre, Garth Brooks

Contestants on the popular game show "Jeopardy!" recently faced unexpected challenges when clues featuring comedians Eric Andre and country music icon Garth Brooks left them stumped.

Last week on "Jeopardy!," contestants Zoe Strassfield, Matt Brooks, and Cat Pisacano drew a blank when faced with a $2,000 clue in the "Guests on Hot Ones" category.

The clue read, "On his Adult Swim show, this host destroys his set every episode, but says he is sedated in real life: ‘I meditate, jog. I eat salad,’" with a photo of the comedian Eric Andre.

Despite Andre's distinctive appearance and successful acting career, none of the contestants were able to provide the correct answer.

Andre himself took to Instagram to jokingly express his disappointment, writing, "Damn they left me hanging" and using a laughing emoji and a cricket emoji in his caption.

"Jeopardy!" responded to Andre's post with, "This is worse than Bird Up!" referencing a recurring bit on Andre's Adult Swim show featuring "the worst show on television" titled "Bird Up."

Fans showed support for Andre, with one commenting, "I think being the 2000 question is somewhat of a compliment."

Last November, "Jeopardy!" contestants faced a similar dilemma in the category of "'90s Singers." The clue read, "This country superstar's 'Friends In Low Places' was named CMA Single of the Year in 1991."

A photo of Garth Brooks appeared onscreen, but again, none of the players responded.

Host Ken Jennings expressed surprise at their lack of recognition, stating, "Whoa! How soon we forget. That’s Chris Gaines’ alter ego, Garth Brooks."

Fans took to social media to question how the contestants could have missed such a well-known figure in the music industry.

These incidents highlight the sometimes unexpected challenges that "Jeopardy!" contestants face on the show. While they excel in various academic and trivia categories, their knowledge of popular culture can occasionally be tested, leading to moments of both humor and bewilderment.

Despite the occasional misstep, "Jeopardy!" remains a beloved game show that continues to engage viewers with its challenging clues and the wit and intellect of its contestants.
