In a recent interview with Men's Health, Renner spoke candidly about the "real" connection he has with Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, and others. He emphasized that their bond extends far beyond social media appearances, describing them as a true family connected by a shared experience.

Renner's co-stars rushed to his aid when he was airlifted to a hospital with over 30 broken bones and other severe injuries sustained while attempting to tow a vehicle stuck in the snow near his Nevada home. During his recovery, they provided invaluable support, assisting him with basic tasks such as showering and going to the bathroom.

"They give you medications so you don’t go to the bathroom, so you get constipated. And you pee in a jar. It was awful," Renner recalled. "That’s when you know things aren’t going great — you’re peeing in a plastic jug."

Renner's experience taught him the importance of accepting love and support, even from strangers. He said, "There’s a lot of people that love me. And I had no idea."

His co-stars also encouraged him to remain positive and focus on his recovery. "I was famous for having a bow and arrow; now I’m famous for overcoming something as a man," Renner said.

Renner returned to filming the second season of "Mayor of Kingstown" just four months after his accident, admitting that he was initially "pretty f---ing fragile." However, he believes that his vulnerability will enhance the upcoming season.

"I think it’ll be the best season yet because of it," Renner said. "Don’t get me wrong, Mike’s still Mike — he’s still the guy you want as your friend. But it’s more emotional, because I'm more emotional."

Renner's accident also led him to re-evaluate his priorities and focus on his physical and mental well-being. He credits his personal trainer, Cat Cantella, with helping him regain his strength and fitness through a rigorous four-month workout regimen.

"Four months of abuse," Renner said of his workouts. "Physical, mental, emotional. But I feel great and I look great!"

Renner's journey of recovery and resilience has been marked by the unwavering support of his "Avengers" family. Their bond has not only been a source of emotional support but has also inspired him to embrace life's challenges with a newfound determination.
