Tessa Farrell, the former fiancée of late "General Hospital" star Johnny Wactor, expressed her admiration for his bravery in protecting his co-worker during the fatal shooting that took his life.
In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Tessa Farrell shared her thoughts on the tragic incident that claimed the life of her former fiancé. She spoke about Wactor's character and the heroism he displayed in his final moments.
Farrell described Wactor as a "wonderful man" with a "heart of gold." She said he was always putting others before himself, and his actions during the shooting were a testament to his selfless nature.
"It doesn't surprise me at all that Johnny would have jumped in front of his co-worker to protect her," Farrell said. "That's just the kind of person he was. He was always looking out for others."
Farrell also spoke about the impact Wactor's death has had on her and his family. She said she is still trying to process the loss and is heartbroken for his loved ones.
"Johnny was a bright light in the world," Farrell said. "He brought joy to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed."
Farrell's comments come after Wactor's co-worker, Anita Joy, shared a heartbreaking account of his final moments on Instagram. Joy described how Wactor shielded her from the gunman and that he was pronounced dead at the scene.
"I'm so grateful to have been a part of his world and him, mine," Joy wrote. "My heart is shattered with his loss but I believe I have gained the best guardian angel out there."
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has ruled Wactor's death a homicide caused by a gunshot wound to the chest. The suspects remain at large, and police are seeking the public's help in identifying them.
Wactor's family and friends are planning a funeral service for him on June 15 in South Carolina. Joy, the co-worker he protected, will be in attendance.
Farrell said she is proud of the way Wactor lived his life and the legacy he left behind. She said she will always cherish the memories they shared.
"Johnny was a beautiful soul," Farrell said. "He will forever be in my heart."
