In a scathing segment on his show, "The Daily Show," Stewart highlighted the incongruous presence of both union leaders and CEOs at the convention, as well as the juxtaposition of Sanders' anti-billionaire rhetoric with the billionaire status of Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, who spoke after him.

"At their convention, they had union leaders and C.E.O.s. They had Democratic Party icons and lifelong Republicans. They had a guy yelling, ‘Screw the billionaires!’ followed immediately by a very happy billionaire," Stewart quipped, showing images of Sanders and Pritzker.
Stewart's criticism extended to the speeches of Sanders and former President Bill Clinton, who both spoke in support of Vice President Kamala Harris's nomination. He accused Sanders of hypocrisy for railing against billionaires while accepting their support, and suggested that former President Clinton's reputation as a sexual harasser was at odds with Harris's role as a prosecutor of sexual predators.

"Credit where credit is due: the Democrats, on short notice, exploited their newfound momentum and enthusiasm with a display of the breadth and width of this diverse, often contradictory party of Roosevelt," Stewart said.
He sarcastically remarked that Democrats seem to tolerate billionaires when they support their own party, saying, "It's all okay if it’s our billionaire. I don’t like billionaires, but he’s all right.’"

Stewart also poked fun at Democrats for criticizing Yale Law graduate J.D. Vance, while having multiple Yale alumni, including Hillary Clinton and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, among their ranks.
