Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love narrowly avoided a potentially season-ending injury during Friday night's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, according to the latest reports.

The 25-year-old quarterback went down after completing a 33-yard pass to Jayden Reed, facing pressure from Jalen Carter and Josh Sweat. As Carter went down, he wrapped around Love's left leg while Sweat pushed him to the ground.

Love appeared in evident pain as he lay on the field, initially raising concerns about the severity of the injury. While he was able to walk off the field with the assistance of trainers, the replay of the incident was disturbing.

Head coach Matt LaFleur expressed uncertainty about Love's status after the game, stating, "I don't know." However, on Saturday morning, the Packers received more positive news regarding the quarterback's condition.

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Love is not believed to have an ACL injury. He will undergo further testing, including an MRI, upon the team's return to Green Bay.

The injury comes at an unfortunate time for Love, who recently signed a four-year, $220 million extension with the Packers this summer. In the 2023 season, Love completed 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions, leading the Packers to the playoffs.

Should Love miss any significant time, newly acquired backup quarterback Malik Willis would take over. The Packers also have 2023 fifth-round pick Sean Clifford on their practice squad.

The Packers' next game is scheduled for Sunday, September 11, against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field. The team will closely monitor Love's condition and provide updates on his status as more information becomes available.
