Kamala Harris becomes a "human Chernobyl" when the teleprompter is taken away

Fox News contributor Joe Concha reacts to Vice President Kamala Harris' CNN interview on 'Hannity.'

Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz sat down for their first interview as the 2024 Democratic ticket on Thursday, and it was an unmitigated disaster. The edited and packaged interview, which was taped earlier in the day, was a masterclass in dishonesty and evasion.

CNN anchor Dana Bash did (gently) challenge Harris on her Etch-a-Sketch positions on the border and domestic energy, but the answers from the Democratic nominee were on a Baghdad Bob level of lying.

On fracking, Harris claimed that she had "made that clear on the debate stage in 2020" that she would not ban it. However, a transcript of the debate shows that she actually said that she would "not support a ban on fracking." This is a significant distinction, as Harris is now supporting a ban on fracking.

On the border, Harris claimed that her "value is around what we need to do to secure our border." However, she has repeatedly supported policies that would make the border less secure, such as sanctuary cities and cash-free bail laws.

Harris' dishonesty was not limited to these two issues. She also dodged questions on her support for taxing unrealized capital gains, free health care for illegal immigrants, and biological men competing against biological women in sports.

It is clear that CNN dropped the ball in this interview. Bash failed to press Harris on her many inconsistencies and evasions. As a result, Harris was able to get away with a litany of falsehoods and misstatements.

This interview is a major setback for Harris' campaign. It showed that she is not ready for the rigors of a presidential campaign. She is unable to answer tough questions without resorting to dishonesty and evasion.

In the wake of this disastrous interview, it is likely that Harris will avoid doing any more interviews before the September 10 debate. She knows that she cannot afford to make any more mistakes.

However, even if Harris is able to avoid any more gaffes, it is unlikely that she will be able to win the presidency. She is simply too dishonest and untrustworthy to be commander-in-chief.

One question that Bash should have asked Harris, but didn't, is whether or not she believes that men can get pregnant. This question is relevant because Harris has repeatedly claimed that she is a "proud advocate for the rights of all Americans, including LGBTQ Americans."

If Harris believes that men can get pregnant, then she must also believe that they have the right to have abortions. This is a radical position that is out of step with the vast majority of Americans.

By avoiding this question, Bash allowed Harris to continue to hide her true beliefs on this important issue.

Kamala Harris' first interview as the Democratic nominee was a complete disaster. She was dishonest, evasive, and unprepared. This interview has exposed her as unfit for the presidency.
