Kamala Harris's Past Far-Left Policy Positions Raise Questions About Her Current Stance

CNN host Erin Burnett expressed surprise at some of the far-left policy positions that Vice President Kamala Harris held in 2019, including decriminalizing all drugs and providing taxpayer funding for migrant sex changes.

CNN anchor Erin Burnett was left shocked after discovering the far-left policy positions that Vice President Kamala Harris espoused during her 2019 presidential campaign.

Burnett interviewed CNN senior Andrew Kaczynski on Monday night about a recently uncovered ACLU candidate questionnaire that Harris filled out in 2019. The questionnaire revealed Harris's support for several controversial policies, including:

Burnett expressed astonishment at Harris's support for taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries for migrants, exclaiming, "Taxpayer-funded gender transition surgeries for detained migrants? She actually said she supported that?"

Kaczynski explained that Harris's 2019 policy positions were strategically designed to appeal to the far-left wing of the Democratic Party, particularly in an attempt to outflank fellow presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

"She was trying to get to the left of Bernie Sanders, she was trying to get to the left of Elizabeth Warren," Kaczynski said.

Burnett questioned how Harris's past positions align with her current stance as Vice President, especially given her recent statements about securing the southern border.

The Harris campaign responded to Fox News Digital's inquiry by referencing a statement from campaign comms director Michael Tyler. Tyler stated that Harris's current policies differ from those outlined in the 2019 questionnaire and emphasized her focus on border security.

"She has been very clear about what she – how she has governed and how she intends to govern if she is president of the United States," Tyler said.

However, Burnett and Kaczynski highlighted the inconsistency between Harris's condemnation of former President Trump's border wall and her use of images of the same wall in her recent campaign ad.

"That is a portion of wall that was actually built by Donald Trump," Kaczynski said. "It was built in area where there was not previous wall, it was actually pretty controversial when they were building it at the time."

Burnett questioned, "She’s using his wall that he built to say, ‘Look at what I did’?"

The revelation of Harris's past far-left policy positions raises questions about her current stance on various issues, particularly immigration and drug policy. Her apparent shift in positions highlights the fluidity of political ideologies and the potential for electoral strategy to influence policy proposals.
