Hollywood actor Kevin Costner has spoken out about his emotions following his ex-wife's recent public display of affection with her alleged boyfriend.
Kevin Costner's ex-wife, Christine Baumgartner, has sparked a frenzy of speculation after she was spotted holding hands with a man named Joshua Connor in Santa Barbara, California. The outing marks the first time the couple has shown any sign of public affection since Costner and Baumgartner finalized their divorce in February after a nine-month court battle.
Costner, who was attending the Cannes Film Festival in France, expressed mixed emotions about the news. While he declined to comment directly on his ex-wife's relationship, he admitted to feeling a sense of loss.
"It feels like there's no winner," Costner told Fox News Digital exclusively. "You know, I don't know. It's a weird feeling."
Connor's name first surfaced during Baumgartner and Costner's child custody payment hearing last year. Costner's legal team questioned Baumgartner about a $20,000 loan from a "boyfriend" named Josh.
Baumgartner testified that Connor had been a longtime friend of the family but denied being in a romantic relationship with him. She said she had traveled with Connor and his daughter to Hawaii on two separate occasions, with the Costners paying for the first vacation.
Sources close to Baumgartner claim that she and Connor have been growing closer in recent months. It is unclear if they are officially dating or if they are simply friends with benefits.
Costner, meanwhile, has been keeping busy with the promotion of his new Western epic, "Horizon: An American Saga." The film debuted at the Cannes Film Festival to a nearly 10-minute standing ovation.
"I'm so glad I found this [business]," Costner said during the premiere. "There's no place like here. I'll never forget this, neither will my children."
Despite his success on the big screen, Costner admits that his personal life has been filled with challenges.
"I think movies aren't about their opening weekends, they're about their life… about how many times you're willing to share them," Costner said. "And I hope that you do share this movie with your sweethearts, with your children. I feel so lucky, I feel so blessed."
The "Field of Dreams" star walked the red carpet with the women of "Horizon" and his son Hayes, who made his acting debut in the Western flick.
The first part of the Western saga debuts in theaters on Friday, June 28, while the second part of the drama will be released 49 days later, on Friday, Aug. 16. In addition to starring in the feature film, Costner also directed "Horizon" based on a script he co-wrote with John Baird.
