Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell recently shed light on the remarkable grandparenting abilities of Kurt and Goldie Hawn. In a candid interview, Wyatt shared insights into the couple's unwavering love and dedication to their grandchildren.
Hawn and Russell first crossed paths during the filming of the 1966 comedy "The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band." However, it wasn't until 1983 that their romantic relationship blossomed. While they have never tied the knot, they have welcomed one son together, Wyatt, and have a blended family including Kate and Oliver Hudson from Hawn's previous marriage to Bill Hudson, and Boston Russell from Russell's marriage to Season Hubley.
Speaking about their family's strong bond, Kate Hudson, Hawn's daughter, expressed her admiration for her mother and stepfather's relationship. "They've been together 40 plus years. They are the center of our family," Hudson said on SiriusXM's "The Howard Stern Show."
Wyatt Russell added to the praise, describing Hawn and Russell as "the best" grandparents. "They've stuck it out, they've been there for us through thick and thin," he said.
In an earlier interview with Esquire, Russell shared his thoughts on Hawn's incredible qualities. "You get with Goldie Hawn, you got a good chance," he said. "If you're lucky enough to get with Goldie Hawn, it's just however long she can put up with you."
Hawn, who was present for the birth of all of Hudson's children, is undoubtedly a loving and supportive grandmother. Hudson expressed her gratitude for her mother's presence, saying, "She's the best, I love her so much."
Regarding Russell, Hudson refers to him as her father and feels deeply connected to him. "I feel so unconditionally loved by Kurt... he's the best," she said.
Despite their busy schedules, the family makes an effort to stay close. Hudson joked about her "co-dependency" with Hawn and revealed that she moved just a few doors down from her parents to be closer.
