Laura Ingraham Slams NY Judicial System, Calls Stormy Daniels Testimony 'Political Hit Job'

Laura Ingraham erupted on Thursday night's "The Ingraham Angle," tearing into the New York judicial system for what she called a "political hit job" against former President Donald Trump. Ingraham was particularly incensed by the testimony of Stormy Daniels, who Trump allegedly paid hush money to during the 2016 presidential campaign.

"Any legal analyst who isn't calling this what it is, a political hit job masquerading as a felony case, is doing just a huge disservice to the country, and also a disservice to whatever law degree you got," Ingraham exclaimed.

She argued that nothing Daniels said during her testimony was relevant to the ultimate question in the case: whether Trump falsified business records to conceal a crime related to the alleged affair.

"Now, today, there was nothing (and I mean nothing) said ... that was relevant to the ultimate question in this case: Did Donald Trump himself falsify business records, 11 years after his alleged tryst with [Stormy] Daniels in furtherance of a crime to supposedly, of course, interfere with the election?" Ingraham said.

She went on to attack Democrats, accusing them of using the justice system as a weapon against their political opponents.

"Unfortunately, because Biden is so weak, because his record is so, so bad, Democrats felt they needed an insurance policy, just like the Deep State needed one back in 2016," Ingraham said.

She warned that Democrats must not be allowed to continue using the justice system for their own political ends.

"They miscalculated then and they've miscalculated now. This time we need to win to make sure they are never (and I mean never again) allowed to weaponize the justice system for their political ends," Ingraham concluded.

Ingraham's comments come as Trump faces a slew of legal challenges, including a criminal investigation by the Fulton County District Attorney in Georgia into his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in that state. Trump has also been subpoenaed by the House Select Committee investigating the January 6th Capitol riot.

Ingraham's defense of Trump on her show is part of a broader trend among conservative media figures who have rallied around the former president in the face of his legal troubles. They have argued that Trump is being unfairly targeted by Democrats and that the investigations against him are politically motivated.

Liberal critics, on the other hand, have accused Trump's supporters of trying to undermine the rule of law and protect him from accountability for his actions. They have also pointed out that Trump has a long history of facing legal challenges, including before he entered politics.
