Laura Ingraham: Stormy Daniels' Testimony Unnecessary in 'Farcical' Trump Case

Fox News host Laura Ingraham has dismissed Stormy Daniels' testimony in the New York criminal case against former President Donald Trump as "totally unnecessary" and called the case a "farce."

During her show "The Ingraham Angle" on Thursday, Ingraham argued that the media and Democrats have been portraying Trump as uninformed and unengaged while also contradictorily claiming that he meticulously tracked every movement in his office.

"Which is it?" Ingraham asked. "These people can't get their story straight about Trump, and it speaks to the weakness of the overall case against him."

Ingraham also questioned the relevance of Daniels' testimony to the charges against Trump, which include falsifying business records and committing a felony.

"Daniels' testimony was totally unnecessary to the question at hand whether Trump approved of the falsification of business records in order to commit another felony in furtherance of it," Ingraham said.

She added, "We don't need to rehash why this case is a farce. You know why it's a farce. Anyone who is honest with themselves knows why it's a farce."

Ingraham further criticized the gag order imposed on the president by Judge Juan Merchan, calling it "overbroad and unconstitutional."

"This is a papered-over political hit job, further sullied by Judge Merchan's overbroad and unconstitutional gag order, which the president hasn't been deterred by," Ingraham said.

She concluded by saying that regular Americans who are following the case see it for what it is: a political attack.

"To the extent that regular Americans are even following this, they see this for what it is," Ingraham said. "This is a papered-over political hit job, further sullied by Judge Merchan's overbroad and unconstitutional gag order, which the president hasn't been deterred by."

Trump's former attorney, Michael Cohen, pleaded guilty to federal charges related to the hush money payments made to Daniels and was sentenced to three years in prison. Trump has denied any wrongdoing in the case.
